Bishop’s Message

Knowing

We walk by faith! Yet, a life of faith produces knowing. From tradition and experiences we develop a character sketch of God. God discovered through faith guides our belief in God for tomorrow. There’s a knowing. On a walk, Paul noticed a memorial to an “unknown” god. Seeing that, he starts talking about what he knows about God. God is a: Creator, breath-giver, maker of worlds, living, causing life, not limited to worship spaces, not dependent on humanity but desiring a relationship with humanity. A seeking-and-finding God. An appointing God. An always close, yearning-to-be-known God.

Acts 17:22-31

The Wards will provide the meat and wine for the meal. Everyone else is asked to bring a side dish and any drinks they desire.

Please invite your friends, as we would like to “reintroduce” ourselves to the community as well as to each other at St. Albans.

Vacation Notice– Shirley Morgan will be on vacation the week of May 29. She will be back in the office on June 5.

FISH4Kids Summer Lunch Program-We are days away from the anticipated last day of school. Most kids are excited about a summer filled with family outings and great adventures. Here in Walton County we have close to 2,300 children who fear school being out due to the challenges of their environment, including having sufficient food. Faith in Serving Humanity (FISH) will provide daily sack lunches again this summer to these children. Will you prayerfully consider sponsoring a child? For $60, a child will be fed each weekday this summer and receive a hygiene kit. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will help purchase food for the program.

Please pick up a card from the basket on the round table in the Narthex. Make checks payable to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and drop it with the completed card in the offering plate or turn in to the St. Alban’s front office. Thank you!!

Remember the Poor-Our Alms Box is located on the right side on the wall when you walk out of the sanctuary. Please remember the poor and give your spare change. Checks and bills are accepted also. Thank you!

Choir Practice is every Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. Please Join us!
