Bishop’s Message

Refuge

The Psalms are poetry. The words come from ordinary people’s experiences of God. They imagine God for and with the community of faith. The Psalms sustain and supercharge hope in God. They urge us to seek and know God for ourselves. They share, we are reminded, and our reliance on God increases. That’s the aim. God is “refuge,” we hear. God is a God we can flee back to. God is a shelter from shame. Adherence to God’s ways is a hiding place from the self-induced storms of life. God’s building materials are compassion, wisdom and guidance.

Psalm 31

FISH4Kids Summer Lunch Program-We are days away from the anticipated last day of school. Most kids are excited about a summer filled with family outings and great adventures. Here in Walton County we have close to 2,300 children who fear school being out due to the challenges of their environment, including having sufficient food. Faith in Serving Humanity (FISH) will provide daily sack lunches again this summer to these children. Will you prayerfully consider sponsoring a child? For $60, a child will be fed each weekday this summer and receive a hygiene kit. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will help purchase food for the program.

Please pick up a card from the basket on the round table in the Narthex. Make checks payable to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and drop it with the completed card in the offering plate or turn in to the St. Alban’s front office. Thank you!!

Remember the Poor-Our Alms Box is located on the right side on the wall when you walk out of the sanctuary. Please remember the poor and give your spare change. Checks and bills are accepted also. Thank you!

Choir Practice is every Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. Please Join us!
