Limping

Sleepless nights happen. Seized by fear, Jacob planned and prayed, tossed and turned. He’d “wrestled” with God, humanity and himself until daybreak. He was changed by that long, hard night – his name and his stride. Now, he limped because of the wrestling. We are Jacob! Before our long nights and limping, we were so ignorant. So asleep. But now, we have seen the Holy face to face. Heard the whisper. Because of our limping, we can run right now. Because of the gift of this new daybreak we can see the path, the pioneer and the perfecter of the faith.

Genesis 32:24-31

Parishioner Care Committee – If you are interested in being part of a committee to help and care for members of the congregation in need, please contact Melissa Young at 404-918-4344 or dr.melissayoung@gmail.com. The members of this committee will visit shut-ins, take meals to people in need, be responsible for mailing out anniversary and birthday cards, and in general seeing about the needs of our parishioners.

Good News, Great Joy-As we enter this Thanksgiving season, what better way to express our thanks for the many blessings God has given us than to pass on some blessings to a child in need? For very little money and time, we can help a child by filling a shoe box with those things that we tend to take for granted.

This year, St. Alban’s is once again participating in Operation Christmas Child, a project that provides shoe boxes filled with everyday items to needy children around the world.

Shoe boxes and lists of items needed are available in the Parish Hall. Please return all filled boxes by Sunday, November 13th.

Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you. (Deuteronomy 16:17)

Choir Practice is every Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. Please join us!
