Bishop’s Blurb

God knows precisely the length of time it takes to make a redwood, or a universe, or a soul. And, God knows how long it takes to make God’s glory shine so we can see it – and know we’ve seen it. Jesus didn’t rush frantically to Lazarus’ sick bed or his tomb. He was working on glory time. I call it shine-time. Shine-time comes after waiting, after tears, sometimes even after they pronounce death. Shine-time waits long enough so God can call life out of death and so many will believe. Faith is knowing God’s timing is the perfect timing.

FISH4Kids Summer Lunch Program-We are days away from the anticipated last day of school. Most kids are excited about a summer filled with family outings and great adventures. Here in Walton County we have close to 2,300 children who fear school being out due to the challenges of their environment, including having sufficient food. Faith in Serving Humanity (FISH) will provide daily sack lunches again this summer to these children. Will you prayerfully consider sponsoring a child? For $60, a child will be fed each weekday this summer and receive a hygiene kit. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will help purchase food for the program.

Please pick up a card from the basket on the round table in the Narthex. Make checks payable to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and drop it with the completed card in the offering plate or turn in to the St. Alban’s front office. Thank you!!

Easter Lilies For Our Sanctuary– Anyone desiring to make a contribution toward Easter Flowers, please use the envelopes that are in the pews. Put your name and the name of the person to be honored or memorialized on the envelope. Also, on the memo line of your check, please indicate “For Easter Flowers.” The Altar Guild thanks you for your support.

Easter Egg Hunt – We will have an Easter Egg Hunt after the worship service on Easter morning, April 16th. Members are invited to participate by donating plastic eggs filled with candy, trinkets, or coins. Eggs will be collected each Sunday in a box in the lobby of the Parish Hall.
