- Our Mission
Saint Alban’s Episcopal Church exists to Love God, Love People, and Share Christ’s Message.
Every ministry provides an opportunity for parishioners to use their gifts, grow in faith, and serve both the church and the wider community.
- Building & Grounds
The Building and Grounds Ministry cares for the church campus and facilities, ensuring that Saint Alban’s remains safe, welcoming, and well-maintained. Volunteers assist with repairs, maintenance projects, landscaping, cleaning coordination, van maintenance, and seasonal beautification efforts.
- Treasurer & Finance
The Finance Ministry oversees the financial stewardship of Saint Alban’s. This ministry works to ensure responsible management of parish resources through budgeting, financial reporting, audits, stewardship campaigns, and preparation of the annual Parochial Report.
- Hospitality
The Hospitality Ministry welcomes members, visitors, and guests through fellowship and service. From Coffee Hour and newcomer outreach to monthly breakfasts and special holiday events, this ministry helps build community and strengthen relationships throughout the parish.
- Outreach
The Outreach Ministry shares Christ’s love through service to our community and beyond. Through programs such as FISH, Fish for Kids, mission trips, Relay for Life, Art Camp, Math Camp, Christmas outreach projects, and other service opportunities, parishioners are encouraged to serve those in need.
- Christian Formation
Adults
Adult Christian Formation provides opportunities for lifelong spiritual growth and discipleship. Through Bible studies, prayer groups, Episcopal education classes, Confirmation preparation, Lenten programs, and the parish library, adults are invited to deepen their faith and understanding of God’s Word.
- Librarian
Saint Alban’s maintains a parish learning library for members of all ages. The library offers resources for children, youth, and adults, including Bible studies, Christian education materials, spiritual growth resources, Episcopal history and theology, and books for personal enrichment. The library supports lifelong learning and faith formation for the entire parish family.
- Christian Formation
Children & Youth
This ministry nurtures the faith of children and youth through Sunday School, youth gatherings, fellowship activities, service opportunities, and special events. Our goal is to help young people grow in their relationship with Christ while building lasting friendships within the church community.
- Parish Life
Parish Life strengthens the bonds of fellowship within Saint Alban’s through social gatherings, special events, and community celebrations. Programs include the ECW, Joy of Living, Men’s Breakfast, Prayer & Pint, Ministry Fair, Annual Meeting, Country Store, and other activities that bring parishioners together.
- Pastoral Care
The Pastoral Care Ministry provides spiritual support, prayer, encouragement, and compassionate care to parishioners during times of need. Through pastoral visits, prayer ministries, Daughters of the King, and weekly prayer gatherings, this ministry helps ensure that no member walks alone.
- Technology & Communications
The Technology & Communication Ministry at Saint Alban’s supports our ministries and outreach by helping us stay connected with our parish and the wider community. This area includes our Sunday film crew and livestream team, church technology, website and Facebook presence, advertising and promotion of programs and events, and our online giving platforms. Together, these efforts help us share the life and ministry of Saint Alban’s both within our church family and beyond our walls.
- Special Projects
The Special Projects Ministry coordinates parish improvement initiatives and one-time projects that enhance the mission, ministry, and facilities of Saint Alban’s. As new opportunities and needs arise, volunteers work together to plan, organize, and complete projects that strengthen the life of the parish.
- Worship
The Worship Ministry assists in creating meaningful and reverent worship experiences. Volunteers serve as Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Vergers, Acolytes, Lay Readers, Altar Guild members, Ushers, Greeters, and musicians, helping lead the congregation in worship and praise.

- Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Lay Eucharistic Ministers assist the clergy in administering the consecrated bread and wine during Holy Communion. They serve as an important part of the worship team and help ensure the orderly and reverent distribution of the Sacrament.
- Acolytes
Acolytes assist in leading and supporting worship services through a variety of ceremonial roles. In contemporary Anglicanism, the term includes servers, torchbearers, candle lighters, crucifers, thurifers, and banner-bearers. The ministry of acolytes dates back to the early Church, where they assisted deacons and helped prepare for worship.
Throughout church history, acolytes have carried candles in processions, assisted at the altar, and supported the clergy during services. Today, acolytes help create a worship experience that is reverent, orderly, and meaningful while providing an opportunity for parishioners, especially youth, to participate actively in the liturgy.
- Vergers
A Verger is a lay minister who assists the clergy in the conduct of public worship, particularly in organizing and leading processions and ensuring that worship services run smoothly. The ministry dates back to the Middle Ages when the verger served as the “Protector of the Procession,” clearing the way for clergy and worshippers.
Today, Vergers coordinate liturgical ministers, prepare for worship services, assist with ceremonial functions, and help maintain the dignity and order of worship. The traditional vestment of the verger is a black cassock, and the ministry is supported throughout the Episcopal Church by the Vergers’ Guild.
- Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is a volunteer ministry dedicated to the care of the altar, vestments, vessels, altar linens, and other items used in worship. Members prepare the sanctuary before services and ensure that everything is properly cleaned and stored afterward.
The Altar Guild also oversees the decoration of the church with flowers and seasonal adornments, helping create a beautiful and reverent worship environment that reflects the liturgical seasons and celebrations of the Church.
- Lay Readers
Lay Readers proclaim the lessons from Holy Scripture during worship services and may assist with leading prayers and other portions of the liturgy. Through their ministry, the Word of God is clearly shared with the congregation.
- Ushers
Ushers welcome worshippers, assist with seating, collect offerings, distribute service bulletins, and help ensure that all who attend worship feel comfortable and welcomed.
- Greeters
Greeters serve as the first point of contact for visitors and members, offering a warm welcome and helping people feel at home at Saint Alban’s.
- Music Ministry
The Music Ministry enriches worship through congregational singing, choral leadership, instrumental music, and special musical offerings throughout the church year. This ministry helps lead the congregation in prayer and praise through music.
